According to a magazine report, CBD oil is legal in almost 30 states where medicinal marijuana has been legalized. With both its pros and cons, the CBD oil remains in a flickering state of being legal and illegal in Texas. The major reason is the ban on the use of THC in Texas. Laws and bills have been formulated particularly for the use of CBD oil and other products.
According to Bonn Miller, FDA is not regularising the use of CBD because of its tricky nature. His study also found that many CBD drugs are sold with false description on the label. The drugs do not contain the right amount of CBD. Moreover, traces or sometimes large quantities of THC were found in the drugs. This can lead to more dangerous seizures and increase anxiety.
Stephanie Klick, Republican state Rep. of the state of Texas, legalized the use of cannabis oil-based medicines. This proved beneficial for the people of Texas suffering from different ailments. This also attracted people who look forward to the organic treatment of diseases. She wishes to expand the bill for the year 2019 as well. The House Bill 3703 has been filed and it will allow CBD oil-based medication for the patients of epilepsy, sclerosis, and spasticity. However, the THC component in the drug should be very low.
The bill will also eliminate the need for approval from two physicians to purchase the CBD products. Backing up CBD Klick said, “Some individuals have clearly benefited from it. More data in support of CBD has come out which is why I support some other conditions being added.” The Tribune coverage showed that the bill would allow doctors to treat medical cannabis like any other medicine. The percentage of THC will also become irrelevant.
The future of cannabis oil is still blurred in Texas. Considering both the positive and negative aspects, any decision is yet to be made. With the wide range of benefits also come its worse side effects. A safe line is yet to be determined for the consumption of CBD oil.
The situation is becoming more chaotic before any settlement is done.
